Fresh, easy-drinking Vermentino
In the Alghero dialect, Saldenya means Sardinia, and the sound recalls the froth atop the waves of the sea, driven by the Mistral wind, which settles on the grapes, giving them their unmistakable, almost salty flavour. The rich sea breeze rises up every day at noon, bringing the aroma of the waves to the wine produced on Podere Guardia Grande. The sea that separates Sardinia from the mainland gives the measure of an identity that has been maintained intact for centuries. The island is a miniature continent that enchants, enamours and commands respect.
